2023-24 Gettysburg Teacher of the Year nominations are now open!
A district Teacher of the Year nominee must: be a fully certified teacher; be employed by a South Dakota accredited school district - pre-kindergarten through grade twelve; have at least 3 full years of teaching experience; be planning to continue in an active teaching status (supervisory and administrative responsibilities are secondary considerations) for at least 2 more years; For more information on the Teacher of the Year Program visit, http://doe.sd.gov/oatq/teacheroftheyear.aspx.
To nominate a teacher for the Gettysburg Teacher of the Year Award, simply complete this form or pickup a paper copy in the school office. Middle School student council members played Christmas games with the elementary students today.
Fun sock exchange in Kindergarten today- thanks, families! Enjoying a hunt for the gingerbread man too!
The 8th Graders held a Chemistry Show for grades K-2. The elementary classes enjoyed learning about blooming flowers, magic milk, elephant toothpaste, erupting slime, homemade lava lamps, rainbow walk, bread in a bag, and pop & mentos.

The elementary had their Kids Heart Challenge event on Friday where they played a variety of games. This years top fundraiser, Landan Wager, also got to put a pie in his role model, Ryder Falkenhagen's face. Landan raised $1,020!! As a school we raised $10,211.91. What a great group of kids. This money goes towards the American Heart Association to help kids with "sick hearts."
Don't forget our prek-12 dress-up days for this week! Hats, sweaters, and pj's!
