FRED AND MARY MAAS FOUNDATION PROVIDES FINE ARTS GRANT - The Maas Foundation recently awarded a $5,000 grant to the community of Gettysburg to offset costs for youth that wish to attend any type of Fine Arts Camp over the summer! The goal is to increase youth participation in the fine arts - band, chorus, theatre, oral interp. Students who attend a camp will have half the cost of their camp registration reimbursed. The Black Hills Playhouse of South Dakota has camps for youth going into grades 5-12th grade. Grades 5-8th is July 17-13. Grades 8-12 is July 14-20. 8th Graders can come to either! The school had them come last fall for the production of "On the Road to Bremen Town"
Financial assistance is available from the Black Hills Playhouse if needed.

USAO Academy – Summer Law Camp
The USAO Academy – Summer Law Camp is an opportunity for high school students interested in pursuing a career in law and/or criminal justice to learn about local opportunities available to them in various professions. Led by federal prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, students attending this interactive program will be introduced to the American Justice System, including criminal, civil, and appellate law; will have the opportunity to meet and interact with federal law enforcement agents; and will participate in a mock trial at the Federal Courthouse.
The Camp will be held at the United States Attorney’s Office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, June 24-26, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day.
The Camp is free of charge and space is limited. To apply, please download and complete the application form found via the following link.
