We are excited to offer a local transition event for our students with disabilities, and their families. Our surrounding communities and schools are welcome and encouraged to attend. This event is sponsored by the Gettysburg School District and South Dakota Parent Connection. It will be offered to students grade 8 through students in our 18-21 program. The evening session is for parents and will be targeted towards the same age range. If your student does not fall into the age range, you are welcome to attend to prepare for the future. Good morning. A friendly reminder that school will dismiss at 12:50 Thursday, October 10th, for Parent Teacher Conferences. There will be no school Friday October 11th or Monday October 14th. Be sure to check out the Service Agency Fair for families of students with disabilities as well.!

Justin Lacey was a mystery reader in Kindergarten today. AJ was surprised! He shared his favorite childhood book , Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel, with the class as well as The Wonky Donkey. The kids had fun participating with donkey noises!




The Kindergartners presented their projects about baby animals today. They did a wonderful job!

September was National Suicide Prevention Month. On Friday, September 29th, students in grades 6-12 heard presentations from NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness). Among the topics discussed were symptoms of depression, early intervention, stigma, and resources for help. Middle schoolers received information to give to parents. Grades 9-12 parents will be emailed the information.


Here are a few science activities students have participated in- insect collection, bubble graphing lab, characteristics of life nature walk lab, precision and accuracy bean bag lab, gummy bear density lab, density sugar column lab, and cell membrane bubble lab.
