Dear Patrons of Gettysburg School District, The PC Coop board met Monday evening to discuss the Coop agreement for the 25-26 school year.  At a September planning committee meeting, Gettysburg asked Hoven if they would consider consolidating and included that we were open to ideas that had schools at both sites. The Hoven committee said they have no interest in that at this time, and would like to maintain a K-12 school as long as possible but are open to cost sharing ideas and working together. With that, and the best interest of students at Gettysburg School District in mind, our committee proposed a new agreement that would continue the Coop, but with several changes, the biggest being that all practices and activities would be in Gettysburg. The other option would be to dissolve the Coop. We waited to share this information to allow the Hoven committee members time to inform their board counterparts at a special meeting this evening. Their decision will drive the rest of the discussion and decisions at the regular meeting of the Gettysburg School Board on Thursday, December 12th at 5pm. These are not changes we take lightly, and a decision must be made by January 22nd for SDHSAA purposes.  Any changes to the Coop Agreement would not take effect until the 2025-2026 school year, and this year's activities will continue as they are. Please feel free to call a school board member or administrator for any questions, concerns, or clarifications. -Amber Mikkelsen, Gettysburg Supt.

Creatively Inspiring Young Innovators! We rounded out American Education Week with an exciting K-5 art activity this morning. Students got to disguise a turkey to save it from being eaten for Thanksgiving dinner! Watching the creativity flow this morning was so much fun, the kids all did such a great job!

Nothing BUNDT Greatness at GHS! Today for American Education Week we recognize the dedicated teachers and admin who help shape young minds and create our leaders of tomorrow! Teachers and Admin were treated to a drink from the 212 Mini Mall as well as a Bundt cake sponsored by The Gettysburg Teachers Association. A special thanks to the PTO and High School Student Council for delivering the yummy treats! This afternoon students 6-12 took teaching into their own hands as they were paired with an elementary classroom to teach a lesson. Lots of fun, smiles, and learning was had by all!

The Junior class had fun with the 5th Graders today! The Juniors made three games to play: Charades, a math game, and writing a story when given a prompt, but switching stories every minute! At the end of the day, neither the Juniors nor the 5th Graders wanted to stop playing, we all had a great time!
